May Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Overall, I was quite happy with my glam bag. There were only two products that weren’t my cup of tea. Definetly worth the $10 I spent since my favorite product was worth more that that alone!

Mellow Cosmetics Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude

This lipstick (FULL SIZE!) is highly pigmented. The formula glides on smoothly and doesn’t feel overly dry like a lot of mattes tend to. I really loved the velvet-like finish and that it is very long-wearing. The color isn’t what I would consider a “true nude”, but it is very understated. I am so pleased that I received this. It looks amazing and I am super in to matte lips right now!
Retail: $13.00

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara

I really want to love Smashbox Cosmetics mascaras.. I really do. My sister does, but they just don’t do it for me. I have drug store mascaras that work 10x better. I could barely tell I put on mascara. I know it sounds harsh but I took a picture to show you what I am talking about (one eye with the mascara and one eye without). I’m glad this is a sample size and not a full sized product I paid for, because I will be giving it to me sister. Tell me in the comments below what your go-to mascara is. Or if there is another mascara you would like to see me try before you buy I will feature it on my new (non-ipsy) beauty review series!

Retail: $22.00

FORMULA 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask

I really liked this product. It was nice and lightweight, dries fast, and left my skin feeling really nice after washing off the product. The full sized product is available at Ulta and is 3.4 fl oz. It is extremely affordable which means, even though it’s not my #1 face mask I apply monthly, I will probably go buy it just to use once a week on the weeks I don’t use the other.

Retail: $6.99

Hikari Cosmetics Shimmer Bronzer

I have to admit when I first saw this product in my glam bag I was a little disappointed. I’m just not a big fan of products with the whole bronzer + blush in one thing going on. Boy was I wrong! Once I actually used it I fell in love. It looks amazing on my face. Despite how glttery (is that even a word? wth) it looks in the pallet, there is the perfect amount of shimmer when you actually apply it. My only issue is the size for the price. I feel like it’s on the expensive side for something so small I mean I got the full sized product and I just don’t see myself spending $17.00 for that.

Retail: $17.00

Vera Mona Eye Smudger Brush

So I am totally obsessed with brushes. I have brushes that range from under $2.00 to upwards of $30.00. That doesn’t mean that all brushes are created equal. This one just wasn’t up to par for me. I have a very similar (morphe) brush already and the quality of that brush completely surpasses this one. The bristles are soft to the touch, but when you try to smudge, they stay completely still making it very difficult. The only reason I gave it 3 hearts is because of the sturdy handle and it is appealing to the eye.

Retail: $9.99

Blog or Vlog? You decide!

Hello my loves! As you know, I have started doing monthly Ipsy glam bag reviews. As my makeup obsession (and collection) continues to grow I have decided to do a general monthly beauty review as well. This review will contain products and tools I have been trying out that month. Most of the products will be on the affordable side with the very occasional high end product. I am very excited to get this series rolling and expect to have the first post up by the beginning of the week. I’d love to get some feedback on if you like the format that I do my Ipsy reviews with, or if you would prefer this to be a video series! I can’t wait to hear from you!

April Ipsy Glam Bag Review

I know what you're thinking.... It's May, not April! Yes, but I had a rough patch the end of April/early May and honestly had no mootivation. It's hard to write a post when you don't even have the engery to feed yourself (or your poor husband!). I'm done with the excuses now and will be aiming to get to posting on a more consistent basis.
Now on to my monthly IPSY glambag review!!!

You can sign up to get your own monthly glam bags from IPSY here!

Tarte Cosmetics Lipsurgence™ Lip Crème In Wonder
Still not sure how I feel about the shade, but it goes on smooth and feels nice. It doesn't last very long though. It's definetly not a lip creme to wear to dinner. You won't make it to dessert without having to reapply.

Retail Value: $24.00

Luxie Beauty Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522

My new favorite highlight brush! The bristles are extremely soft and feel wonderful on my face. The best part is that it is made cruelty free! That's a big plus in my book. And let me tell you, my highlight has been on point since I have started using this brush instead of my Morphe fan brush.
Retail Value: $24.00

Probelle Nail Lacquer in “In Or Out”
I like the formula of the polish. It’s goes on nice and dosen;t chip two days after application. Still, I had to give it only three hearts because the shade looks really bad with my skin tone. I just can't pull off pastels at all.
Retail Value: $6.00

Starlooks Cream Eye Shadow in Rose Gold
OMG! I am obsessed with this shadow! It is amazing and looks amazing with a bronzed look. I feel very Greek Goddess everytime I wear it. It’s my new go to shadow. The only issue I have is that it flakes around the edges when you try to blend it with other shadows. If it weren't for that it would have received five hearts! But to tell you the truth.... I still want this product in every color! Unfortunately, this is the only color available right now.
Retail Value: $17.00 (Pre-Order Now for $10.00)

Moroccanoil Treatment
I've used this a few times now, but I don't see anything extra special about it. It works just as well as cheaper hair oils. Don't get me wrong, it's a good product; it's just that it didn't stand out as anything special. It made my hair soft and shiny right after I used it, but I didn't feel like my hair was any better off once I washed it again.
Retail Value: $15.00

March Ipsy Glam Bag Review

March Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Another month; another great bag. I have been subscribed to Ipsy  for about a year now, and I have to say; it is my favorite subscription service! Makeup is expensive and I hate when I buy a product, get it home, and it doesn’t turn out the way I wanted. I mean, I like it in the store, but when I get it home and actually use it on my face well, turns out it’s not for me. With Ipsy  the samples aren’t tiny little ones you can only use once. A lot of them are full sized products. I looked up the cost of one of the brushes I received and the eye shadow brush retails at $16.00. The subscription is only $10.00 a month and you get 5 products per glam bag! And no, Ipsy  is not paying me or even sending me free products for this post. I just really love getting my glam bag each month. Ok, moving on to the actual review. At first glance, I wasn’t that impressed. Then I started trying the products out and completely changed my mind.

#1: Global Beauty Care Dead Sea Wash Off Mask

I have used a lot of different masks before, but I truly enjoyed this one. It went on nice and smooth, not too thick, and it didn’t make me feel like I couldn’t move my face when it dried like some masks do. When I rinsed it off it washed off easily and left my face feeling extremely smooth and moisturized. Wonderful product!

#2: NoTS 28 Remedy Balancing Toner

The consistency of this toner is more of a gel than a liquid. After applying, my face felt sticky and my skin was very dry. I am used to a liquid toner that makes my skin feel cool and refreshed. I definitely did not feel refreshed with this product. In my opinion this one was a dud.

#3: NUDESTIX Lip + Cheek Pencil in Mystic

Normally, I am not a fan of the lip pencils. This one however, I love! It’s creamy and has just the right amount of shine. I LOVE the color (and so did my husband). It goes perfect with my skin tone and my everyday natural look. This one was definitely a winner and went straight into my purse so I can have it on hand at all times.

#4: OFRA Cosmetics Green Go Eyeliner

I rarely use pencils to line my eyes except for white or nude in my waterline, but I gave this a shot and I don’t hate it. It looked good and it didn’t run at all (BIG plus there!). Since I have it I’ll use it, but it’s just not something I would ever buy. The product itself is pretty good so if you like using pencil liners this is a great brand.

#5: NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in

OMG!!! I am already a big fan of NYX products, but this lipstick is the shit! I love it! This lipstick actually stays on for hours and even through a full meal. I love the matte finish with the super bright color. The pictures don’t do the color justice. It’s almost a neon pink. This one takes the cake and is by far my favorite product in this month’s glam bag!
